Pylobact H. pylori Kit Omeprazole 20mg + Tinidazole 500mg + Clarithromycin 250mg

Indication

Pylobact H. pylori Kit is a triple therapy combination indicated for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection, used in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease (gastric and duodenal ulcers) associated with H. pylori.

Ingredients

• Omeprazole 20 mg
• Tinidazole 500 mg
• Clarithromycin 250 mg

Direction

Adults: Take the combination as directed — typically Omeprazole 20 mg + Clarithromycin 250 mg + Tinidazole 500 mg twice daily for 7 days, with or just before meals. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.

Side effects

• Gastrointestinal: nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhea
• abdominal pain
• metallic/bitter taste.
• Headache
• dizziness.
• Skin reactions: rash.
• Clarithromycin: QT prolongation
• hearing loss (rare)
• hepatotoxicity (rare).
• Tinidazole: peripheral neuropathy with prolonged use.
• Omeprazole: hypomagnesaemia with long
• term use.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to proton pump inhibitors
• macrolides
• or nitroimidazoles.
• Avoid alcohol during tinidazole therapy (disulfiram
• like reaction).
• Clarithromycin may prolong QT interval — avoid in patients with QT prolongation or taking QT
• prolonging drugs.
• Clarithromycin interacts with numerous drugs metabolised by CYP3A4 — review all medications.
• Omeprazole reduces gastric acid
• potentially affecting absorption of other medicines.
• Not for use during pregnancy (particularly clarithromycin and tinidazole).
• Keep out of reach of children.
