Fenoget Fenofibrate 200mg

Indication

Fenoget is a fibrate indicated as an adjunct to dietary measures for the treatment of dyslipidaemia, particularly hypertriglyceridaemia and mixed dyslipidaemia. It lowers triglycerides and raises HDL-cholesterol levels, and may reduce LDL-cholesterol.

Ingredients

• Fenofibrate 200 mg

Direction

Adults: 200 mg once daily with a meal, or as directed by a physician. The dose may be adjusted based on lipid response.

Side effects

• Gastrointestinal: nausea
• abdominal pain
• diarrhea
• flatulence.
• Elevated liver enzymes.
• Myalgia
• myopathy (risk increases with statin co
• therapy).
• Headache.
• Rarely: rhabdomyolysis
• pancreatitis
• cholelithiasis.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in severe renal or hepatic impairment
• gallbladder disease
• and active liver disease.
• Use with caution when combined with statins (increased risk of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis).
• Monitor liver function and serum creatinine during therapy.
• Not for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• May potentiate anticoagulant effect of warfarin — monitor INR.
• Keep out of reach of children.
