Indication
Used for the management of functional dyspepsia, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), nausea and vomiting, and as a prokinetic agent.
Ingredients
- Levosulpiride 25 mg
Direction
Adults: 25 mg three times daily before meals. Treatment duration as directed by physician.
Side effects
- Drowsiness
- Extrapyramidal symptoms
- Hyperprolactinemia (galactorrhea
- amenorrhea
- gynecomastia)
- Weight gain
- Tardive dyskinesia (with prolonged use)
- QT prolongation (rare)
Precautions
- Contraindicated in pheochromocytoma
- prolactin
- dependent tumors
- and GI hemorrhage/obstruction.
- May cause tardive dyskinesia with prolonged use β monitor for involuntary movements.
- May prolong QT interval.
- Reduces seizure threshold β caution in epilepsy.
- Use with caution in patients with renal impairment.
