GAVISCON Alginate de sodium + Bicarbonate de sodium 10ml sachets

Indication

Used for the symptomatic relief of gastro-oesophageal reflux, including heartburn, acid regurgitation, and reflux-associated symptoms. Forms a floating raft on stomach contents to prevent reflux.

Ingredients

• Sodium alginate 500 mg
• Sodium bicarbonate 267 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: contents of one sachet (10 ml) dissolved in water after each meal and at bedtime, up to 4 times daily. Children 6–12 years: half a sachet under medical supervision. Not recommended for children under 6 years.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated.
• Occasional flatulence or bloating.
• Sodium overload may occur in patients with sodium
• restricted diets.

Precautions

• Contains sodium
• use with caution in patients on a low
• sodium diet or with heart failure
