COVERAM Perindopril arginine 5mg / Amlodipine 5mg

Indication

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and/or stable coronary artery disease in adults whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on either agent alone.

Ingredients

• Perindopril arginine 5mg
• Amlodipine 5mg

Direction

Adults: 1 tablet once daily, preferably in the morning before a meal. Dose may be increased to perindopril 10mg/amlodipine 10mg once daily as needed.

Side effects

• Dry cough (ACE inhibitor class effect).
• Peripheral oedema (ankle swelling).
• Flushing
• headache
• dizziness.
• Hypotension (especially on first dose).
• Hyperkalaemia.
• Fatigue
• nausea.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with history of angioedema related to ACE inhibitor therapy.
• Contraindicated in hereditary/idiopathic angioedema.
• Do not use during pregnancy (second and third trimesters) — may cause fetal harm.
• Avoid use with potassium
• sparing diuretics without monitoring.
• Use with caution in patients with renal artery stenosis or severe hepatic impairment.
• Monitor blood pressure
• renal function
• and electrolytes.
• Keep out of reach of children.
