Indication
Relief of symptoms associated with excess stomach acid including heartburn, acid indigestion, upset stomach, and bloating/gas. Antacid and antiflatulent combination.
Ingredients
- Aluminium hydroxide
- Magnesium hydroxide
- Simethicone (dimethicone)
- suspension 170mL
Direction
Adults: 10–20mL (2–4 teaspoons) four times daily after meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a physician. Shake well before use.
Side effects
- Constipation (aluminium
- related) or diarrhoea (magnesium
- related).
- Rare: hypermagnesaemia
- hyperaluminaemia in renal impairment.
Precautions
- Do not use for more than 2 weeks without medical advice.
- Consult a doctor in patients with kidney disease (magnesium and aluminium accumulation).
- May reduce absorption of other medications if taken concomitantly — take other medicines at least 2 hours apart.
- Keep out of reach of children.
