CLOFENAC SR Diclofenac Slow Release 100mg

Indication

Treatment of pain and inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute musculoskeletal disorders, acute gout, dysmenorrhoea, and post-operative pain.

Ingredients

• Diclofenac sodium 100mg (slow
• release tablet)

Direction

Adults: 1 tablet (100mg SR) once daily, preferably with or after food. Swallow whole; do not crush or chew. Maximum 150mg per day in divided doses for immediate-release formulations.

Side effects

• Gastrointestinal disturbances: nausea
• dyspepsia
• abdominal pain
• diarrhoea.
• Headache
• dizziness.
• Oedema.
• Elevated liver enzymes.
• Rare: peptic ulcer
• cardiovascular events.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer
• severe heart failure
• or severe renal/hepatic impairment.
• Avoid in patients with aspirin or NSAID hypersensitivity.
• Not recommended in the third trimester of pregnancy.
• Do not use in patients with established cardiovascular disease unless clearly necessary.
• Monitor blood pressure and renal function.
• Keep out of reach of children.
