Promephac 25 Prométhazine 25mg

Indication

Treatment of allergic conditions (urticaria, hay fever, allergic rhinitis), nausea and vomiting, motion sickness, and as a sedative/pre-operative anxiolytic.

Ingredients

• Promethazine hydrochloride 25mg

Direction

Adults: 25mg at night (for allergy or sedation). Motion sickness: 25mg 1 hour before travel. Nausea: 12.5–25mg every 4–6 hours. Take with food or milk.

Side effects

• Drowsiness
• sedation.
• Dry mouth
• blurred vision.
• Dizziness
• extrapyramidal reactions.
• Rare: agranulocytosis
• cholestatic jaundice.

Precautions

• Causes significant sedation — avoid driving or operating machinery.
• Avoid alcohol.
• Contraindicated in children under 2 years (risk of fatal respiratory depression).
• Use with caution in elderly patients and those with respiratory disease
• glaucoma
• or urinary retention.
• Not recommended in first trimester of pregnancy.
• Keep out of reach of children.
