Indication
Treatment of high cholesterol (hypercholesterolaemia) and prevention of cardiovascular events in adults at risk.
Ingredients
- Atorvastatin 20mg
Direction
Take 1 tablet once daily, with or without food, at the same time each day. Swallow whole with water.
Side effects
- Muscle pain (myalgia)
- Headache
- Nausea and diarrhoea
- Elevated liver enzymes
- Rarely: rhabdomyolysis
Precautions
- Avoid in patients with active liver disease or unexplained elevated liver enzymes.
- Avoid in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Report any unexplained muscle pain
- tenderness
- or weakness immediately.
- Monitor liver function tests periodically.
- Avoid grapefruit juice during treatment.
