Indication
Treatment of mixed bacterial infections including those involving anaerobes, particularly in gastrointestinal and pelvic inflammatory conditions.
Ingredients
- Metronidazole 200mg
- Erythromycin 250mg
Direction
Take as directed by a physician. Usually taken with food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
Side effects
- Nausea and vomiting
- Metallic taste (metronidazole)
- Diarrhoea
- Abdominal discomfort
- Rarely: peripheral neuropathy with prolonged metronidazole use
Precautions
- Avoid alcohol during treatment and for 48 hours after stopping metronidazole.
- Use with caution in patients with liver disease.
- Erythromycin may interact with many drugs โ check for interactions before use.
- Not for long
- term use without monitoring.
