Indication
Triple therapy for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with peptic ulcer disease or H. pylori-positive gastritis.
Ingredients
- Omeprazole 20mg
- Tinidazole 500mg
- Clarithromycin 250mg
Direction
Take all three components twice daily for 7 days (or as directed by physician), before meals. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.
Side effects
- Nausea and vomiting
- Metallic taste
- Abdominal discomfort
- Headache
- Diarrhoea
- Rarely: C. difficile colitis
Precautions
- Avoid alcohol during and for 72 hours after completing tinidazole.
- Do not use in patients allergic to macrolide antibiotics or nitroimidazoles.
- Clarithromycin may interact with many drugs — check for interactions.
- Monitor for signs of antibiotic
- associated diarrhoea.
- Contraindicated in pregnancy.
