Amdocal Plus 60 5mg Amlodipine + 50mg Atenolol

Indication

Treatment of hypertension and stable angina pectoris. The combination provides complementary mechanisms for blood pressure and heart rate control.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine 5mg
• Atenolol 50mg

Direction

Take 1 tablet once daily, with or without food, at the same time each day. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice.

Side effects

• Peripheral oedema (ankle swelling)
• Bradycardia
• Fatigue and dizziness
• Cold extremities
• Headache
• Rarely: bronchospasm

Precautions

• Do not stop abruptly — taper atenolol dose to prevent rebound hypertension or angina.
• Avoid in patients with bradycardia
• heart block
• or asthma/COPD.
• Use with caution in diabetes (atenolol may mask hypoglycaemia signs).
• Monitor blood pressure
• heart rate
• and renal function regularly.
• Contraindicated in pregnancy.
