Indication
Treatment of allergic conditions (allergic rhinitis, urticaria, angioedema), nausea and vomiting, motion sickness, and as a preoperative sedative.
Ingredients
- Promethazine hydrochloride 25mg
Direction
Adults: Take 25mg orally once at night or 12.5mg 2β3 times daily. For motion sickness: take 25mg 30β60 minutes before travel. Follow physician instructions.
Side effects
- Sedation
- Drowsiness
- Dry mouth
- Blurred vision
- Urinary retention
- Constipation
- Extrapyramidal reactions (rare)
Precautions
- Causes significant sedation
- avoid driving or operating machinery.
- Contraindicated in children under 2 years due to risk of respiratory depression.
- Avoid in patients with narrow
- angle glaucoma
- prostatic hypertrophy
- or pyloroduodenal obstruction.
- Use with caution with CNS depressants and alcohol.
- Not recommended in patients with epilepsy.
