Indication
Treatment of bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, meningitis, gonorrhea, and gastrointestinal infections caused by susceptible organisms.
Ingredients
- Ampicillin 500mg
Direction
Adults: Take 250–500mg orally every 6 hours, 30–60 minutes before meals. Complete the full prescribed course of treatment.
Side effects
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Skin rash
- Urticaria
- Abdominal discomfort
- Rarely
- anaphylaxis or pseudomembranous colitis
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with a history of penicillin hypersensitivity.
- Use with caution in patients with renal impairment.
- May reduce the efficacy of oral contraceptives.
- Complete the full course of treatment to prevent antibiotic resistance.
- Discontinue immediately if a skin rash develops and seek medical attention.
