Smecta 3g Sachet Diosmectite 3g

Indication

Smecta is a gastrointestinal protective agent used for the symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhoea in adults and children, and for the relief of pain and discomfort associated with oesophageal, gastric, and intestinal conditions (oesophago-gastro-duodenal disorders).

Ingredients

• Diosmectite 3 g

Direction

Adults: 3 sachets (9 g) per day. Acute diarrhoea: 6 sachets per day for the first 3 days. Children over 2 years: 2–3 sachets per day. Children under 2 years: 1–2 sachets per day. Each sachet should be dissolved in half a glass of water (approximately 100 ml) and stirred before drinking. Take 30 minutes before meals or between meals.

Side effects

• Constipation (dose

• especially at high doses).
• Bloating (rare).
• Allergic reactions (very rare).

Precautions

• Administer at least 2 hours apart from other medications
• as diosmectite may reduce their absorption.
• Severe or persistent diarrhoea — seek medical attention
• ensure adequate hydration with oral rehydration salts.
• Consult a doctor if symptoms do not improve within 2 days.
• This product contains sucrose — caution in patients with hereditary fructose intolerance.
• Keep out of reach of children.
