Bromhexil 4 4mg

Indication

Bromhexil 4 contains bromhexine, a mucolytic expectorant used to treat acute and chronic respiratory tract disorders associated with viscous mucus secretions, including bronchitis, asthma, bronchiectasis, and COPD. It helps thin and loosen mucus to facilitate its clearance.

Ingredients

• Bromhexine HCl 4 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 10 years: 8–16 mg three times daily (i.e., 2–4 tablets of 4 mg). Children 6–10 years: 4–8 mg three times daily. Children 2–6 years: 4 mg three times daily. Take with food. Drink adequate water to assist expectoration.

Side effects

• Nausea and vomiting.
• GI discomfort.
• Diarrhoea.
• Skin rash (rare).
• Headache (rare).
• Dizziness (rare).

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with gastric ulcer disease — may irritate the gastric mucosa.
• Consult a doctor if cough persists for more than 7 days or is accompanied by fever

• Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
