Indication

LOXMA FORT Suspension is an antacid with antiflatulent and antiseptic properties used to relieve symptoms of hyperacidity, heartburn, acid indigestion, bloating, and flatulence associated with gastritis and peptic ulcer disease.

Ingredients

• Aluminium hydroxide gel 15.152 g/100 mL
• Magnesium hydroxide 4.002 g/100 mL
• Simethicone 0.4 g/100 mL
• Chlorhexidine acetate 0.030 g/100 mL

Direction

Adults: 10–20 mL (2–4 teaspoonfuls) 3–4 times daily, between meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a physician. Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Constipation (aluminium component) or diarrhoea (magnesium component).
• Nausea.
• With prolonged use: electrolyte imbalance
• hypophosphataemia.

Precautions

• Avoid use in patients with severe renal impairment (risk of aluminium and magnesium accumulation).
• May interfere with absorption of other medications — take other drugs at least 2 hours before or after this product.
• Prolonged use of aluminium
• containing antacids may cause phosphate depletion and constipation.
• Magnesium
• containing antacids may cause diarrhoea.
• Keep out of reach of children.
