Angilock Plus 50-12.5 50/12.5mg

Indication

Angilock Plus 50-12.5 (Losartan 50 mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg) is a combination antihypertensive medicine used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on either drug alone.

Ingredients

• Losartan potassium 50 mg
• Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg

Direction

Adults: One tablet once daily with or without food. The dose may be adjusted by the physician. Do not crush or split unless directed.

Side effects

• Dizziness
• fatigue.
• Hyperkalaemia (from losartan component).
• Hypokalaemia
• hyponatraemia (from HCTZ component).
• Cough (uncommon — less than with ACE inhibitors).
• Renal impairment.
• Hypersensitivity reactions.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to losartan
• sulfonamides
• or hydrochlorothiazide.
• Contraindicated in pregnancy (can cause fetal injury or death — discontinue if pregnancy is detected).
• Avoid concurrent use with ACE inhibitors in patients with diabetic nephropathy.
• Monitor potassium
• renal function
• and blood pressure regularly.
• Hydrochlorothiazide may cause electrolyte imbalances (hypokalaemia
• hyponatraemia).
• Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
• Keep out of reach of children.
