Indication
Angilock Plus 50-12.5 (Losartan 50 mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg) is a combination antihypertensive medicine used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on either drug alone.
Ingredients
- Losartan potassium 50 mg
- Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg
Direction
Adults: One tablet once daily with or without food. The dose may be adjusted by the physician. Do not crush or split unless directed.
Side effects
- Dizziness
- fatigue.
- Hyperkalaemia (from losartan component).
- Hypokalaemia
- hyponatraemia (from HCTZ component).
- Cough (uncommon — less than with ACE inhibitors).
- Renal impairment.
- Hypersensitivity reactions.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to losartan
- sulfonamides
- or hydrochlorothiazide.
- Contraindicated in pregnancy (can cause fetal injury or death — discontinue if pregnancy is detected).
- Avoid concurrent use with ACE inhibitors in patients with diabetic nephropathy.
- Monitor potassium
- renal function
- and blood pressure regularly.
- Hydrochlorothiazide may cause electrolyte imbalances (hypokalaemia
- hyponatraemia).
- Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
- Keep out of reach of children.
