Indication
Colicaid Drops (Meyer) is used for relief of colic, flatulence, and gas pain in infants and young children. It helps disperse gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract.
Ingredients
- Simethicone 40 mg per ml
- Fennel oil (Saunf oil) present in some formulations
Direction
Infants (up to 6 months): 0.5 ml after each feed, up to 4 times daily. Children (6 monthsβ2 years): 0.5β1 ml four times daily. May be mixed with water, formula, or juice. Shake well before use. Use the dropper provided.
Side effects
- Simethicone is generally very well tolerated.
- Rare: loose stools or gastrointestinal discomfort.
Precautions
- For use in infants and young children under supervision.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- If symptoms persist or the infant appears unwell
- consult a physician.
- Do not exceed recommended dose.
