Indication

Ciprofloxacin 0.3% ophthalmic solution is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye) and corneal ulcers caused by susceptible organisms.

Ingredients

• Ciprofloxacin 0.3% (3 mg/mL) ophthalmic solution

Direction

Bacterial conjunctivitis: Instil 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 2 hours while awake for 2 days, then 1–2 drops every 4 hours while awake for the next 5 days. Corneal ulcers: Follow physician instructions. Wash hands before and after use.

Side effects

• Local burning or discomfort upon instillation.
• White crystalline precipitate in the eye (in some corneal ulcer patients).
• Eyelid itching or redness.
• Blurred vision (temporary).

Precautions

• For ophthalmic use only — do not inject or swallow.
• Do not wear contact lenses while using this product.
• Do not use if hypersensitive to ciprofloxacin or other fluoroquinolones.
• Prolonged use may lead to overgrowth of non
• susceptible organisms.
• Consult a doctor if symptoms do not improve within 7 days.
• Keep out of reach of children.
