Indication
CIRAI is a ciprofloxacin ophthalmic solution used for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye, including bacterial conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers caused by susceptible bacteria.
Ingredients
- Ciprofloxacin 0.3% (3 mg/mL) ophthalmic solution
Direction
Instil 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 2 hours while awake for the first 2 days, then 1–2 drops every 4 hours while awake for the next 5 days. Follow physician's instructions for corneal ulcers.
Side effects
- Burning or stinging sensation upon instillation.
- Eyelid redness or itching.
- Blurred vision (transient).
- White crystalline precipitate (rare
- in corneal ulcer cases).
Precautions
- For ophthalmic use only — do not swallow or inject.
- Avoid contact lens use during treatment.
- Do not use if allergic to ciprofloxacin or other fluoroquinolones.
- Consult a doctor if symptoms persist after 7 days of use.
- Keep out of reach of children.
