Indication

Strepsils Extra lozenges are used for the symptomatic relief of sore throat and mouth infections, providing antiseptic action and local anaesthetic relief for pain and discomfort.

Ingredients

• Amylmetacresol 0.6 mg
• 2
• 4
• Dichlorobenzyl alcohol 1.2 mg
• Lidocaine hydrochloride 10 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: Dissolve one lozenge slowly in the mouth every 2–3 hours as needed. Do not exceed 8 lozenges in 24 hours. Children under 12 years: Only on medical advice.

Side effects

• Hypersensitivity reactions (rash
• itching
• swelling) — rare.
• Local numbness of mouth and throat.
• Nausea — rare.

Precautions

• Do not use in children under 6 years of age.
• Do not use if hypersensitive to any of the ingredients
• including lidocaine.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose.
• If sore throat is severe
• persists for more than 3 days
• or is accompanied by high fever
• rash
• or headache
• consult a doctor.
• Contains lidocaine
• use with caution if taking other local anaesthetics.
• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
• Keep out of reach of children.
