Indication
EfferalganMed Pediatrique 30 mg/ml oral solution is used for the short-term treatment of mild to moderate pain (such as headache, toothache, teething, or sore throat) and to reduce fever in infants and children.
Ingredients
- Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) 30 mg/ml
Direction
Dose is based on body weight: 15 mg/kg every 6 hours (maximum 60 mg/kg per day). Typical volumes: Infants 3–10 kg: 1.5–5 ml per dose. Children 10–30 kg: 5–15 ml per dose. Administer orally using the graduated syringe provided. Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours. Maintain at least 6 hours between doses.
Side effects
- Rare at therapeutic doses.
- Nausea
- vomiting — very rare.
- Allergic skin reactions (rash
- urticaria) — rare.
- Serious hepatotoxicity in overdose.
Precautions
- Do not exceed the recommended dose
- overdose may cause serious liver damage.
- Do not give with other paracetamol
- containing products.
- Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment
- renal impairment
- or glucose
- 6
- phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency.
- Consult a doctor if fever lasts more than 3 days or pain more than 5 days.
- Avoid use in children under 3 months without medical advice.
- Keep out of reach of children.
