Calvit-D 500mg Calcium Gluconate + 200IU Vitamin D3

Indication

Calvit-D is a calcium and vitamin D supplement used for the prevention and treatment of calcium deficiency, osteoporosis, rickets, and osteomalacia. Vitamin D3 aids calcium absorption and utilisation.

Ingredients

• Calcium gluconate 500 mg
• Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) 200 IU

Direction

Adults: 1–2 tablets daily with meals or as directed by a physician. Children: dose as directed by physician based on age and weight. Chew or dissolve tablets as instructed on packaging.

Side effects

• Constipation
• nausea.
• Rare: hypercalcaemia with excessive intake (confusion
• weakness
• kidney stones).

Precautions

• Avoid in patients with hypercalcaemia (raised blood calcium).
• Do not exceed recommended dose
• excess calcium may cause kidney stones.
• Consult a physician before use in patients with kidney disease.
• Separate from certain medications (e.g.
• tetracyclines
• thyroid hormone) by at least 2 hours.
• Keep out of reach of children.
