Kalfen child 100mg/5ml

Indication

Kalfen Child is an ibuprofen oral suspension for children, used to relieve mild to moderate pain, reduce fever, and treat inflammation. It is indicated for fever from cold or flu, teething pain, earache, headache, sore throat, and minor muscle pain.

Ingredients

• Ibuprofen 100 mg per 5 ml

Direction

Children: 5–10 mg/kg body weight per dose every 6–8 hours as needed. Maximum 40 mg/kg per day. Typical doses: 6–12 months (5–7 kg): 2.5 ml; 1–3 years (8–12 kg): 5 ml; 4–6 years (13–19 kg): 7.5 ml; 7–10 years (20–28 kg): 10 ml; 11–12 years (29–40 kg): 15 ml. Shake well before use. Take with or after food.

Side effects

• Nausea

• Diarrhea or constipation
• Skin rash (rare)
• Gastrointestinal bleeding with prolonged use (rare)

Precautions

• Do not use in infants under 3 months or weighing less than 5 kg.
• Do not use with other NSAIDs or aspirin
• containing products.
• Use with caution in patients with asthma

• Avoid dehydration during use.
• Do not exceed recommended dose or duration (max 3 days for fever
• 5 days for pain).
• Consult a physician if fever or pain persists.
