Goldamox 250mg

Indication

Goldamox (Amoxicillin) is a broad-spectrum aminopenicillin antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections including ear infections (otitis media), sinusitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and Helicobacter pylori eradication (in combination).

Ingredients

• Amoxicillin 250 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 10 years: 250–500 mg every 8 hours (3 times daily). Children under 10 years: 20–40 mg/kg/day in 3 divided doses. Severe infections: doses may be doubled. Take with or without food. Complete the full course as prescribed.

Side effects

• Diarrhea
• nausea
• vomiting
• abdominal pain
• Skin rash (particularly in patients with viral infections)
• Allergic reactions including urticaria
• angioedema
• anaphylaxis (rare but serious)
• Antibiotic
• associated colitis with prolonged use (rare)

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to penicillins or beta
• lactam antibiotics.
• Use with caution in patients with mononucleosis — increased risk of rash.
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment — dose adjustment required.
• Take the full prescribed course even if symptoms resolve.
• Consult a physician if rash
• difficulty breathing
• or allergic reaction occurs — stop immediately.
• Keep out of reach of children.
