Indication

- Bacterial diarrhea - Bacillary dysentery - Giardiasis (infection caused by Giardia) - Enteritis caused by susceptible organisms

Ingredients

• Furazolidone and Sulfadiazine

Direction

Take 1 tablet orally 3 to 4 times daily, typically for 3 to 7 days. It is best taken with food to reduce stomach upset.

Side effects

• Nausea and vomiting
• Headache
• Dark yellow or orange
• colored urine
• Abdominal pain
• Rare allergic reactions (rash
• itching)

Precautions

• Avoid alcohol during and 4 days after treatment
• Avoid tyramine
• rich foods (e.g.
• aged cheese
• red wine)
• Not for patients with G6PD deficiency
• Not recommended for infants under 1 month old
• May interact with MAO inhibitors and antidepressants
