Indication
Treatment of female infertility (induction of ovulation), male hypogonadism, cryptorchidism (undescended testes), and delayed puberty in males
Ingredients
- Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) for injection
Direction
As prescribed by physician. Given by intramuscular injection. Dosage varies by indication. Must be administered under medical supervision.
Side effects
- Injection site pain
- headache
- fatigue
- mood changes. In women: ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS)
- multiple pregnancies. In men: gynecomastia.
Precautions
- Prescription only. Use under medical supervision. Contraindicated in hormone
- dependent tumors. Risk of ovarian hyperstimulation in women. Monitor response with ultrasound.
