sensitivity may occur).
Contraindicated in patients with porphyria or severe liver disease.
Contraindicated during pregnancy — griseofulvin is teratogenic and fetotoxic
effective contraception required during and for at least 1 month after treatment.
Males should use contraception during and for at least 6 months after treatment.
Avoid alcohol during treatment — may cause a disulfiram
like reaction.
May reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives — use additional contraception.
May interact with warfarin (reduced anticoagulant effect) and some anticonvulsants.
Regular liver function monitoring is recommended for prolonged courses.
May cause photosensitivity — avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight.
