Indication
Getformin 1mg+500mg is an oral antidiabetic combination used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and single-agent therapy have not provided adequate glycemic control.
Ingredients
- Glimepiride USP 1 mg
- Metformin HCl USP 500 mg
Direction
Take as directed by your physician. Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. Usually taken once or twice daily with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Follow your doctor's specific dosage instructions.
Side effects
- Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)
- Nausea
- vomiting
- diarrhea
- Abdominal discomfort
- Dizziness
- Headache
- Rare: lactic acidosis (seek immediate medical attention)
Precautions
- Do not use in type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis
- Contraindicated in renal impairment (eGFR < 30 mL/min)
- Withhold before iodinated contrast procedures
- Monitor blood glucose regularly
- Store below 30Β°C
