Indication

- Single or mixed intestinal worm infections - Roundworm (Ascaris), whipworm, pinworm, hookworm - Strongyloidiasis and tapeworm (Taenia) - Giardiasis in children

Ingredients

• Albendazole 200 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 2 years: 400 mg (two 200 mg tablets) as a single dose for common intestinal worms; for giardiasis, 400 mg once daily for 5 days. Tablets may be chewed, swallowed, or crushed.

Side effects

• Abdominal pain
• nausea
• Headache and dizziness
• Transient elevation of liver enzymes
• Reversible hair loss (with prolonged use)
• Rarely
• leukopenia

Precautions

• Contraindicated in pregnancy
• exclude pregnancy before treatment in women of childbearing age
• Monitor liver function and blood counts with prolonged or high
• dose use
• Use with caution in hepatic impairment
• Not recommended in children under 1 year
