Panol 300 mg

Indication

Paracetamol is used for the relief of mild to moderate pain including headache, toothache, backache, rheumatic pain, sore throat, and pain associated with colds and flu. It is also used to reduce fever.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol

Direction

Adults and children 12 years and over: 300–1000 mg every 4–6 hours as needed. Maximum 4000 mg in 24 hours. Children (6–11 years): dose based on weight approximately 10–15 mg/kg every 4–6 hours; consult prescriber. Do not exceed 5 doses in 24 hours.

Side effects

• Rare: allergic reactions (rash
• urticaria
• angioedema).
• Very rare: serious skin reactions (Stevens
• Johnson syndrome
• toxic epidermal necrolysis).
• Liver toxicity with overdose.
• Blood dyscrasias (thrombocytopenia
• agranulocytosis) — very rare.

Precautions

• Do not exceed the recommended dose
• paracetamol overdose can cause serious liver damage.
• Avoid use with other paracetamol
• containing products.
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment
• renal impairment
• or chronic alcohol use.
• Seek medical advice before use in patients on warfarin or other anticoagulants.
• Consult a doctor if symptoms persist for more than 3 days (fever) or 5 days (pain).
• Keep out of reach of children.
