Indication
Analgesic and antipyretic for intravenous infusion.
Ingredients
- Paracetamol 1 g
Direction
As directed by the Physician. For I.V. infusion only.
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting (uncommon)
- Elevated liver enzymes
- Hypersensitivity reactions: skin rash
- urticaria
- anaphylaxis (rare)
- Thrombocytopenia
- leucopenia (rare)
- Hypotension on rapid intravenous infusion
- Serious hepatotoxicity with overdose
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
- Use with caution in patients with mild to moderate hepatic or renal impairment
- dose reduction or increased dosing interval may be required.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose — overdose causes serious hepatotoxicity.
- Caution in patients with chronic alcoholism
- malnutrition
- or dehydration.
- Avoid concurrent use with other paracetamol
- containing products.
- Contains sodium — caution in patients on sodium
- restricted diets.
- Monitor liver function in patients receiving repeated doses.
