Indication
Bioplacenton (Placenta extract + Neomycin sulphate) gel is used for wound healing, minor burns, skin abrasions, and infected wounds. Placenta extract stimulates tissue regeneration and wound healing; neomycin sulphate provides antibacterial activity to prevent or treat secondary infection.
Ingredients
- Placenta extract
- Neomycin sulphate
Direction
Adults and children: Clean the wound thoroughly. Apply a thin layer of Bioplacenton gel to the affected area and cover with a sterile dressing. Apply 2–3 times daily, or as directed by a physician. Change dressings regularly.
Side effects
- Local irritation
- burning
- or allergic contact dermatitis — uncommon.
- Sensitisation to neomycin (risk increases with prolonged use) — uncommon.
- Systemic neomycin toxicity (nephrotoxicity
- ototoxicity) — rare
- only with large
- area application.
Precautions
- For external use only.
- Avoid contact with eyes.
- Do not use if allergic to neomycin or aminoglycosides — cross
- sensitisation with other aminoglycosides possible.
- Do not apply to large areas or deep wounds without medical supervision — systemic absorption of neomycin may occur.
- Discontinue if rash
- burning
- or allergic reaction occurs.
- Consult a doctor for wounds that do not improve within 7–10 days.
- Keep out of reach of children.
