Vitamin C Injection 500mg/5ml

Indication

Ascorbic acid injection 500 mg/5 mL is used for the treatment and prevention of Vitamin C deficiency (scurvy), as an adjunct in wound healing, and as a parenteral source of Vitamin C when oral administration is not possible.

For intravenous or intramuscular administration only by a healthcare professional. Dose and frequency are determined by clinical indication and physician's instructions.

Side effects

• Pain
• redness
• or swelling at the injection site.
• Nausea or gastrointestinal discomfort.
• High
• dose use: risk of oxalate nephrolithiasis (kidney stones).
• Rarely: haemolysis in patients with G6PD deficiency.

Precautions

• For parenteral use only
• must be administered by a trained healthcare professional.
• Use with caution in patients with oxalate kidney stones or glucose

• phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency.
• High doses may interfere with certain laboratory tests (e.g.
• blood glucose
