Indication

Solifenacin 5 mg is a muscarinic receptor antagonist (anticholinergic) used for the treatment of overactive bladder (OAB) with symptoms of urinary urgency, urinary frequency, and urge incontinence in adults.

Ingredients
  • Solifenacin succinate
Direction

Adults: 5 mg once daily taken orally with water. The dose may be increased to 10 mg once daily if the 5 mg dose is well tolerated but insufficient. Take with or without food.

Side effects
  • Dry mouth (most common).
  • Constipation
  • blurred vision.
  • Nausea
  • dyspepsia.
  • Headache
  • dizziness
  • drowsiness.
  • Urinary tract infections.
  • Rare: urinary retention
  • QT prolongation.
Precautions
  • Contraindicated in urinary retention
  • gastric retention
  • uncontrolled narrow
  • angle glaucoma
  • and myasthenia gravis.
  • Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment
  • renal impairment
  • autonomic neuropathy
  • or GI obstructive disorders.
  • May cause QT prolongation
  • use with caution with other QT
  • prolonging drugs.
  • May impair ability to drive or operate machinery (blurred vision
  • drowsiness).
  • Use with caution in the elderly (risk of CNS effects).
  • Keep out of reach of children.
