Indication
Solifenacin 5 mg is a muscarinic receptor antagonist (anticholinergic) used for the treatment of overactive bladder (OAB) with symptoms of urinary urgency, urinary frequency, and urge incontinence in adults.
Ingredients
- Solifenacin succinate
Direction
Adults: 5 mg once daily taken orally with water. The dose may be increased to 10 mg once daily if the 5 mg dose is well tolerated but insufficient. Take with or without food.
Side effects
- Dry mouth (most common).
- Constipation
- blurred vision.
- Nausea
- dyspepsia.
- Headache
- dizziness
- drowsiness.
- Urinary tract infections.
- Rare: urinary retention
- QT prolongation.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in urinary retention
- gastric retention
- uncontrolled narrow
- angle glaucoma
- and myasthenia gravis.
- Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment
- renal impairment
- autonomic neuropathy
- or GI obstructive disorders.
- May cause QT prolongation
- use with caution with other QT
- prolonging drugs.
- May impair ability to drive or operate machinery (blurred vision
- drowsiness).
- Use with caution in the elderly (risk of CNS effects).
- Keep out of reach of children.
