Panadol 500 mg

Indication

Paracetamol (Panadol 500 mg) is used for the relief of mild to moderate pain including headache, migraine, toothache, sore throat, period pain, and backache. It also reduces fever associated with cold and flu.

Direction

Adults and children 12 years and over: 1–2 tablets every 4–6 hours as needed. Do not exceed 8 tablets (4 g) in 24 hours. Take with water. Children under 12 years: use an appropriate paediatric formulation.

Side effects

• Rare: skin rash or allergic reactions.
• Very rare: serious skin reactions (Stevens
• Johnson syndrome).
• Overdose may cause serious liver damage — seek emergency medical help immediately.

Precautions

• Do not exceed the recommended dose.
• Do not take with other paracetamol
• containing products.
• Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney impairment.
• Avoid alcohol during treatment.
• Consult a doctor if symptoms persist for more than 3 days.
• Keep out of reach of children.
