Indication
Broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic indicated for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections including respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin and soft tissue, bone and joint, intra-abdominal infections, meningitis, gonorrhoea, and surgical prophylaxis.
Ingredients
- Ceftriaxone Sodium equivalent to 1 g Ceftriaxone per vial
Direction
For intramuscular or intravenous injection. Dose and route of administration as directed by the physician.
Side effects
- Pain or induration at the injection site.
- Diarrhoea
- nausea
- vomiting.
- Skin rash
- pruritus.
- Eosinophilia
- thrombocytosis
- leukopenia.
- Rare anaphylactic reactions
- stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if a reaction occurs.
Precautions
- Prescription antibiotic
- use only under the supervision of a doctor.
- Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillins.
- Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
- Reconstituted solution must be used immediately and protected from light.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
- especially during pregnancy or breastfeeding
- and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.
