Oflocin-D Ofloxacin 3 mg/mL (0.3%) / Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate 0.5 mg/mL

Indication

A combination antibiotic and corticosteroid eye/ear drop used to treat bacterial infections of the eye and ear that are accompanied by inflammation, such as conjunctivitis and otitis externa. Ofloxacin kills the bacteria while dexamethasone reduces redness, swelling and irritation.

Ingredients

• Ofloxacin 3 mg/mL
• Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate 0.5 mg/mL
• Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate 0.01 mg/mL (preservative)

Direction

Use as directed by the physician. Instill the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye(s) or ear(s). Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to avoid contamination. Not for injection; for external use only. Use the solution within one month after opening the container.

Side effects

• Transient burning
• stinging or eye/ear irritation on application
• Temporary blurred vision after use in the eye
• Prolonged use may raise intraocular pressure or cause white deposits on the eye surface

Precautions

• Not for use in viral
• fungal or tubercular infections of the eye
• or on a perforated/ulcerated cornea
• Do not wear contact lenses during treatment
