Cefiget Cefixime 100 mg/5 mL after reconstitution

Indication

For treatment of susceptible bacterial infections including uncomplicated urinary tract infections, otitis media, pharyngitis or tonsillitis, acute bronchitis or acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, and uncomplicated cervical or urethral gonorrhea. Use only when prescribed for an appropriate infection.

Ingredients

• Cefixime 100 mg per 5 mL (as cefixime trihydrate)

Direction

For oral use after reconstitution. Add previously boiled and cooled water to the mark on the bottle and shake vigorously. Shake well before each use. Use only as directed by a physician or the package insert; the dose depends on the infection and patient factors.

Side effects

• Diarrhea
• loose stools
• nausea
• abdominal pain
• indigestion
• vomiting
• or flatulence may occur.
• Headache or dizziness may occur. Rare but serious allergic reactions
• severe skin reactions
• or severe persistent diarrhea require urgent medical attention.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to cefixime or other cephalosporin antibiotics. Tell the prescriber about any serious penicillin allergy
• kidney problems
• anticoagulant use
• or other medicines.
• Stop and seek urgent care for signs of a severe allergic reaction. Contact a clinician promptly for severe or persistent diarrhea
• including diarrhea that begins after treatment. Use antibiotics only when prescribed for a suspected or confirmed susceptible bacterial infection
• complete the prescribed course.
