Indication

Ampicillin is a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, such as infections of the ear, nose and throat, respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin and soft tissue. It is not effective against viral infections such as colds or flu.

Ingredients

• Ampicillin trihydrate equivalent to ampicillin 500 mg per capsule

Direction

Use only on medical prescription and comply with the prescribed doses. Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. The dose, interval and duration are set by the doctor according to the infection; complete the full course even if you feel better. Read the package insert before use.

Side effects

• Diarrhoea
• nausea or vomiting
• Skin rash or itching
• Oral or vaginal thrush (candidiasis)
• Serious allergic reactions (swelling of the face or throat
• difficulty breathing) — stop and seek urgent medical help
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any side effect is troublesome or persists
• and stop use if an allergic reaction occurs.

• Do not take if you are allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins.
