Indication

Calcium channel blocker for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension) and for the prevention of chest pain due to chronic stable angina or vasospastic (Prinzmetal's) angina.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine besilate equivalent to Amlodipine 5 mg

Direction

Take orally once a day, with or without food, as directed by the physician. Usual adult dose is 5 mg once daily, which may be increased to a maximum of 10 mg once daily. Read the package insert carefully before use.

Side effects

• Swelling of the ankles or feet (oedema)
• Headache
• dizziness or tiredness
• Flushing or feeling of warmth
• Palpitations
• Nausea or abdominal pain
• Rarely

Precautions

• Prescription medicine

• Do not use if allergic to amlodipine or other dihydropyridines
• Do not use in severe low blood pressure
• shock or severe aortic stenosis
• Use with caution in liver impairment and heart failure
• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if pregnant or breastfeeding
• Do not exceed the indicated dose
