Diovol Forte 300 mg / 250 mg / 40 mg per 5 ml

Indication

Antacid and antiflatulent suspension for the relief of hyperacidity, heartburn, acid indigestion, gastritis, peptic ulcer discomfort and gas-related bloating and flatulence.

Ingredients

• Dried Aluminium Hydroxide Gel USP 300 mg / 5 ml
• Magnesium Hydroxide USP 250 mg / 5 ml
• Simethicone USP 40 mg / 5 ml

Direction

Oral use. Shake well before use. Dosage as directed by the physician; usually 5–10 ml (1–2 teaspoons) taken between meals and at bedtime, or as advised.

Side effects

• Constipation (aluminium) or diarrhoea (magnesium)
• Nausea or stomach cramps
• Prolonged high doses may cause low phosphate levels

Precautions

• Consult a doctor before use if you have kidney disease
• Antacids can reduce absorption of other medicines (e.g. tetracyclines
• fluoroquinolones
• iron
• digoxin)
• take them 2 hours apart
• Do not use continuously for more than 2 weeks without medical advice
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if pregnant or breastfeeding
• Keep out of the reach of children
