Indication
Single-dose oral emergency contraceptive (morning-after pill) to reduce the risk of pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure, taken within 72 hours.
Ingredients
- Levonorgestrel BP 1.5 mg
Direction
Oral route; use as directed by the physician. Take 1 tablet as soon as possible, preferably within 12 hours and no later than 72 hours after unprotected intercourse. If vomiting occurs within 3 hours, consult a doctor or pharmacist as another tablet may be needed. Not more than 2 tablets may be taken in a month.
Side effects
- Nausea or vomiting
- Lower abdominal pain
- Headache or dizziness
- Fatigue
- Breast tenderness
- Irregular bleeding or spotting
- and an earlier or later next period
- Rarely
- allergic reactions
- stop and seek medical help
Precautions
- For emergency use only
- not a substitute for regular contraception
- Not more than 2 tablets may be taken in a month
- Does not protect against HIV or other sexually transmitted infections
- Not effective if you are already pregnant
- consult a doctor if your period is more than 7 days late
- Consult a doctor before use if you have severe liver disease
