Tylenol Extra Strength Acetaminophen 500mg

Indication

Tylenol Extra Strength is an analgesic and antipyretic used for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains (headache, backache, minor arthritis pain, toothache, muscle pain, menstrual cramps) and reduction of fever.

Ingredients

• Acetaminophen (Paracetamol) 500 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: 2 caplets (1000 mg) every 4–6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 6 caplets (3000 mg) in 24 hours. Swallow with water. Do not take on an empty stomach if irritation occurs.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated at recommended doses.
• Rarely: skin reactions (rash
• urticaria
• Stevens
• Johnson syndrome — very rare).
• Hepatotoxicity in overdose or with chronic excessive use.
• Rarely: blood dyscrasias.

Precautions

• Do not exceed the recommended dose — overdose causes serious liver damage.
• Avoid concurrent use with other acetaminophen
• containing products.
• Use with caution in patients with liver disease or heavy alcohol use.
• Consult a physician if fever persists more than 3 days or pain more than 10 days.
• Keep out of reach of children.
