Indication
Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and eradication of Helicobacter pylori (in combination therapy). Prevention of NSAID-induced gastrointestinal ulcers.
Ingredients
- Pantoprazole sodium sesquihydrate 40mg (as delayed
- release tablets)
Direction
Adults: 40mg once daily before a meal (usually in the morning). For H. pylori eradication, taken as part of triple therapy for 7β14 days. Swallow tablet whole; do not crush or chew.
Side effects
- Headache
- diarrhoea
- nausea.
- Abdominal pain
- flatulence.
- Rare: hypomagnesaemia (long
- term use)
- C. difficile infection.
Precautions
- Long
- term use may increase risk of hypomagnesaemia
- vitamin B12 deficiency
- and bone fractures.
- Not recommended for use in children under 12 years.
- Consult a doctor before use if you have severe liver disease.
- Swallow tablets whole.
- Keep out of reach of children.
