XLH-KIT Triple Therapy: Tinidazole Tabs 500mg, Azithromycin Tabs 250mg, Lansoprazole Caps 30mg

Indication

Triple therapy kit for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with peptic ulcer disease or H. pylori-associated gastritis.

Ingredients

• Tinidazole 500mg tablets
• Azithromycin 250mg tablets
• Lansoprazole 30mg capsules

Direction

Take as directed by the physician: typically Tinidazole 500mg twice daily + Azithromycin 500mg (2 x 250mg) once daily + Lansoprazole 30mg twice daily, for 7–14 days. Take Lansoprazole before meals; take others with food.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• metallic taste
• abdominal discomfort.
• Diarrhoea
• headache.
• Dizziness (tinidazole).
• Rare: QT prolongation (azithromycin)
• liver enzyme elevation.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to any component of the kit.
• Avoid alcohol during and for 48 hours after tinidazole therapy (disulfiram
• like reaction).
• Azithromycin may prolong QT interval — use with caution with other QT
• prolonging drugs.
• Lansoprazole: swallow capsules whole
• do not crush or chew.
• Complete the full course.
• Keep out of reach of children.
