Indication
Canasone (Triamcinolone acetonide) is a mid-potency corticosteroid used topically for the relief of inflammatory and pruritic skin conditions including eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, and allergic skin reactions.
Ingredients
- Triamcinolone acetonide 0.1%
Direction
Apply a thin layer to the affected skin area 2–4 times daily. Rub in gently. Do not apply to the face, groin, or underarms unless directed by a physician. Do not use under occlusive dressings unless advised.
Side effects
- Skin atrophy
- striae (stretch marks) with prolonged use.
- Local irritation
- burning
- or itching.
- Rare: systemic corticosteroid effects with extensive use.
Precautions
- Do not use on infected skin without appropriate antimicrobial treatment.
- Avoid prolonged use or application to large areas of skin.
- Do not use near the eyes or on the face unless directed by a physician.
- May cause skin atrophy with prolonged use.
- Not recommended for use in children under 2 years.
- Keep out of reach of children.
