Indication
Clofenac SR 100mg is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout, and postoperative or post-traumatic pain.
Ingredients
- Diclofenac Sodium (slow release) 100 mg
Direction
Adults: One tablet (100 mg) once daily, preferably in the evening, swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew. Take with or after food to reduce gastrointestinal irritation. Maximum dose: 150 mg per day.
Side effects
- Gastrointestinal upset
- nausea
- or abdominal pain
- Peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding (rare but serious)
- Headache
- dizziness
- Elevated liver enzymes
- Fluid retention or edema
- Skin rash
Precautions
- Avoid if allergic to diclofenac
- aspirin
- or other NSAIDs
- Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease
- hypertension
- or renal/hepatic impairment
- Not recommended during the last trimester of pregnancy
- Avoid concurrent use with other NSAIDs or anticoagulants
- Take with food to minimize GI irritation
- Keep out of reach of children
