Indication

Clofenac SR 100mg is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout, and postoperative or post-traumatic pain.

Ingredients

• Diclofenac Sodium (slow release) 100 mg

Direction

Adults: One tablet (100 mg) once daily, preferably in the evening, swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew. Take with or after food to reduce gastrointestinal irritation. Maximum dose: 150 mg per day.

Side effects

• Gastrointestinal upset
• nausea
• or abdominal pain
• Peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding (rare but serious)
• Headache
• dizziness
• Elevated liver enzymes
• Fluid retention or edema
• Skin rash

Precautions

• Avoid if allergic to diclofenac
• aspirin
• or other NSAIDs
• Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease
• hypertension
• or renal/hepatic impairment
• Not recommended during the last trimester of pregnancy
• Avoid concurrent use with other NSAIDs or anticoagulants
• Take with food to minimize GI irritation
• Keep out of reach of children
